UMBI made its presence known at the International Symposium on Marine Biotechnology 2007 in Vina del Mar, Chile (December 9-13, 2007). UMBI scientists, including Dr. Vikram Vakharia, UMBI President Dr. Jennie Hunter-Cevera and Dr. Allen Place, pictured above, provided four of the 30 presentations. Chilean government officials were eager to discuss ways to increase Chile's participation in the biotechnology sector.
