Lecture Series Endowment
A Lecture Series Endowment is a named fund that provides support for a series of visiting scholars to lecture on various cutting edge research topics relevant to the field of biotechnology. The endowment can be tailored to focus on a specific field of research or to seek answers to a specific scientific concern (Chesapeake Bay Pollution, Human Diseases or Conditions, Environmental Protection, etc.)

Department Endowment
A Department Endowment is a named fund to provide salary and operational support enhancements to attract or retain eminent scholars and researchers.

Endowed Chair
An Endowed Professorship is a named fund to provide salary and operational support enhancements to attract or retain research scholars.

Endowed Fellowship
UMBI faculty frequently hosts graduate and post-doctoral candidates in their laboratories. An Endowed Fellowship is a named fund that would provide salary, operational, and laboratory support for a very promising young scientist early in his or her career.

General Endowment
A General Endowment is a named fund to provide annual income support to UMBI's centers and faculty in support of the university's mission.

Naming Opportunities:

Programs and Laboratories
Each of UMBI's Centers features nationally and internationally renowned programs in human disease (including 70 percent of the causes of death), marine microbiology, structural biology, insect transformation, plant transformation, extremophiles, systems biology, and nanobiotechnology as well as educational outreach and workforce development opportunities. Naming opportunities for various research and outreach programs are available for either a one-time gift or a named program endowment. The family or individual name would be prominently displayed on the program's entrance and appear on all UMBI printed and electronic materials relevant to that program. Updates on research, awards, and faculty participating in the program would be provided on a semi-annual basis as well as invitations to events and seminars.

Buildings
UMBI boasts several lovely modern buildings in Baltimore City, the Inner Harbor, and Shady Grove which are available for naming opportunities following a one-time gift or named building endowment. The family or individual name would be prominently displayed on the building and appear on all UMBI printed and electronic materials relevant to that building. Frequent updates on research, awards, and faculty housed in the building would be provided on a semi-annual basis as well as invitations to events and seminars.

Centers
Each of UMBI's four research centers is a hub of excellence and scholarship. They are incubators of tomorrow's technology, cures, and solutions. For either a one-time gift or a named program endowment, it is possible to have one of UMBI's research centers feature you or your family's name. The family or individual name would be prominently displayed on the Center's entrance and appear on all of the Center's printed and electronic materials. Updates on research, awards, and faculty in the Center would be provided on a semi-annual basis as well as invitations to events and seminars.
