UMBI's unique, state-of-the-art facilities include DNA synthesis, sequencing and quantifying equipment, fermentation systems for growth of extremophilic microorganisms, biological safety level 3 (BSL3) suites, a core facility for transgenic work; our extensive, fully contained aquaculture facility is designed for conducting cutting-edge research to develop and improve finfish/shellfish production and hatchery technologies.
